Recent rainfall throughout the district, particularly in the catchments of the region has proved beneficial to the impoundments in the northern inland of New South Wales.

Copeton Dam on the Gwydir is now at 21%, to the north, Pindari Dam is holding almost 146,000 megalitres which equates to 47% of its capacity and after being well below 10% of storage of recent times, Keepit Dam on the Namoi River is now a much healthier 32%.

To date Moree has received 222.8mm of rain for the year, Narrabri, 398.2mm over 60 rain days, and Walgett has had 383.6mm since January 1st which is 98.4mm above the average to August.
